After you awaken in the Inn in Gongaga Village, find the Tiny Bronco parked on the south shore and head for the Icicle Area located on the continent northwest of Midgar. Beach the plane and head for Bone Village (in the middle of the forest). Beyond the skull tent lies the Sleeping Forest Aeris described in Cloud's vision, but you'll be unable to pass through it without a LUNAR HARP. Talk to the 'guy in the tent' on the lower level to hire workers to help you dig one up*. With the Harp in hand, enter the Sleeping Forest and it will awaken. As you pass through the woods, you'll notice a Summon Materia disappearing and reappearing, floating amongst the trees. Catch it and you'll receive the KJATA MATERIA. Proceed to the Corral Valley, walk under the hollowed-out log, and open the chest to find a WATER RING. Go back around and through the log and proceed through the valley to reach the Forgotten City. Take the left path, enter the dwelling on the left, and open the chest in the loft to find a MAGIC SOURCE. Exit and enter the cave to the right. This large structure houses a mysterious ancient device at its center, note its location for future reference. Go down the steps and head right behind the columns to find a chest containing an AURORA ARMLET. Return to the city entrance and take the right path. Enter the first dwelling on the right and open the chest on the highest level to find a GUARD SOURCE. Enter the dwelling next door and open the chest on the right side of the ground floor to find an ELIXIR. Climb the ladder and rest for the night.
When you wake up, grab the ENEMY SKILL MATERIA behind the farthest bed and head for the city entrance. Take the center path, enter the dwelling, and pick up the COMET MATERIA on the highest level before taking the steps to the Water Altar down below. When you approach Aeris, you'll find yourself unable to control your actions as tragedy unfolds. Defeat Jenova-LIFE.
STRATEGY
Jenova-LIFE: This creature uses Water-based attacks exclusively. Equip the [Leviathan]-[Elemental] defensive combination and the Water Ring to make at least two party members completely invulnerable. Your opponent is weak against Earth; equip [Earth-element (Earth or Titan)]-[Elemental] in the weapon of your strongest character. Jenova-LIFE can use Aqualung; if you have the extra space, equip any Enemy Skill Materia without it to acquire this skill. Begin by casting Haste and Regen on your entire party. If you feel it's necessary, you may wish to follow up by casting MBarrier on your unprotected character. Bombard your opponent with Quake and physical attacks to march onward toward victory. [WIZARD BRACELET]
*NOTES
Excavation team: The Lunar Harp is buried on the upper level in the area between the column of smoke and the near-left corner of the skull tent. Pinpoint the exact location by placing at least three workers in a triangle surrounding the area. By digging for 'Good treasure,' you can find the MOP, the BUNTLINE, and a MEGALIXIR. Rumor has it you can also dig up any items you may have missed in locations you can no longer visit. In addition to hiring workers, talk to the 'guy in the tent' if you wish to purchase a DIAMOND BANGLE @ 3200 Gil or a RUNE ARMLET @ 3700 Gil.

Cloud and Sora were riding passed the thousands of glowing trees on their motorcycles, only hoping that it was not too late to help the kids and Kairi. They knew that they had to try and stop Kadaj and his gang from hurting them, and they were going to stop at nothing to do so.
'So you left to find a cure for the geostigma for Denzel right?' Sora asked Cloud as they continued to ride on their motorcycles.
'Yeah,' Cloud said as Sora began to snicker. 'What's so funny?'
'Nothing, it's just for somebody who doesn't want to let people into his life, you sure care a lot about Denzel.' Sora said, referring to Cloud.
'Well, he's just an orphaned kid; he needs someone to look out for him.' Cloud said back.
'I just have one question though,' Sora said, 'Say you do find a cure for the geostigma, after that you will go back to living with Tifa, Marlene, and Denzel right?'
(Battle in the Forgotten City, Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children) Cloud then hesitated, which got on Sora's nerves. But then when it looked like Cloud was about to answer, Sora heard the sound of something hitting his keyblade rider. Cloud and Sora then looked out to see that Yazoo and Loz were firing something at them. Cloud then readied his sword by pressing a button on his motorcycle, which made his swords come out of the sides. Sora only drove faster, trying to get to Kadaj, but then the silver haired man did something unexpected. He waved his hand in the air as he walked closer to them, walking passed Loz and Yazoo and then suddenly, the children that where taken by Kadaj appeared from out of nowhere. But it was when Sora and Cloud looked in front of the group when they halted.
It was Marlene, Kairi, and Denzel, whose eyes looked like the ones that belonged to Sephiroth.
Cloud and Sora then had to act fast. Cloud was about to stop his motorcycle, but Loz came running at him at the speed of light and stopped it for him, the force being so powerful that it pushed Cloud back. Yazoo then followed Loz and went towards Cloud. But no one came to stop Sora's keyblade rider, and he was forced to stop it on an angle, which made him fly out of his seat and fell forward, nearly ramming into the kids but they all made it out of the way. Sora then rolled several feet into the center of the kids, where Kadaj was standing. 'I'm glad you two could make it!' Kadaj exclaimed.
Kadaj then looked over at Loz and Yazoo, who had Cloud cornered, separated from the group. 'Take care of brother for me.' Kadaj said to the two, who only nodded and ran after Cloud. (A/N: When Sora is having his battle, Cloud is having the same battle he had with Loz and Yazoo in AC)
Kadaj then looked down at Sora, who was lying on the ground. 'So you're this keyblade master I have been hearing so much about, it's great to finally meet you.' He said.
'Shut up! We only came for the kids.' Sora exclaimed before he got a better look at him, knowing that he was one of the men that attacked him and Riku on their keyblade riders.
Sora then got up quickly, ready to face Kadaj, but the silver haired man then took out his own sword to block Sora and push him back. After this happened, Kadaj shook his head and put away his sword. 'This fight between you and I must not happen,' Kadaj said, 'Besides, I have a fight waiting that is much more suitable for you.'
Kadaj then let out a grin before he stepped to the side. Sora only gave him a death glare as he held his keyblade tightly, not about to back down no matter whom this person was. Sora then looked to see someone appear from what seemed to be out of nowhere, and he was shocked by who it was. It was Riku.
Sora only looked at his friend shocked before he held out his hand. 'Riku?' Sora said.
Riku did not respond however, and only quickly shot up his head while opening his eyes, revealing they were much like how Sephiroth's used to be.
Riku then ran towards Sora, summoning his keyblade and locking it with Sora's kingdom key. Sora only struggled to hold Riku back as he looked at his friend. 'Riku! What's gotten into you?' Sora asked before letting out a gasp, seeing his friend's eyes up close. These eyes were staring right into Sora's soul, which scared him and made the spiky haired teen jump back. That did not stop Riku though, and he ran towards his friend once again. This time, Sora quickly blocked the attack and then tried to hit Riku with his keyblade, even though he didn't want to risk hurting his friend. But Riku blocked Sora's blow and then hit Sora with way to dawn so hard that Sora went flying backwards, hitting one of those trees, cracking it on impact.
What is this power Riku has over himself? Sora thought. He knew there was no way Riku could have that much power, Riku wouldn't even do something like that to Sora. But Sora did not have time to think, since Riku came running at him again. Since Sora was still weak and kneeling on the ground from being thrown into the tree, he had to think fast. So as soon as Riku swung his keyblade at Sora, the spiky haired keyblade master ducked, making Riku's keyblade hit the tree instead. Even though this was good since the keyblade didn't hit Sora, it was bad at the same time since the keyblade cracked the tree even more, and now it was beginning to fall to the ground. Sora then quickly jumped up and used the falling tree to push himself towards Riku, finally being able to hit him with kingdom key once before Riku returned the favor, this time sending him into the air.
As Sora flew through the air, he quickly did an aerial recovery and landed on one of the branches of the falling tree. Thankfully, he could stand on it and gravity didn't pull him down, but he could feel the tree moving under his feet and could tell that this time was limited. So of course when he saw Riku coming towards him again, he knew that he was in trouble. Riku came towards Sora with full speed, trying to hit him with his keyblade once again but Sora managed to block the blow. They continued to clash keyblades on the branch for what seemed like hours but in reality was only a few minutes. Riku then did something that caught Sora off guard and fired a blast of darkness right at Sora, who crossed his arms in hope of blocking most of the blow. But right when the darkness hit him, Sora felt something lift him into the air, and he knew it was Riku.
Riku sent Sora flying into the air, who tried his best to do an aerial recovery and just barely blocked Riku' next attempt to hit him. They continued to soar threw the air as Sora tried to block Riku's other attacks, but after a while with the battle getting nowhere, Sora began to get tired. And getting tired was the worst thing to happen at that moment since Riku put his keyblade above Sora, and was about to bring it down on him. But then Sora saw what he was doing and quickly used reflect on himself just in time before the keyblade came down. As soon as way to dawn came down on the reflect shield, it still sent Sora flying to the ground and hitting it hard.
Sora was barely able to get one knee when he landed. He then looked behind himself to see that Cloud was lying on the ground unconscious right behind him, and out in front of Sora was Kadaj and Riku. Kadaj then let out a snicker as he got his sword ready, ditto with Riku but with his keyblade. Just when Sora thought it was over, he saw Kadaj and Riku quickly jump back. Sora was confused by this, but then looked up to see something red floating above him and Cloud. It reminded Sora of how blood would flow if it was in water, and it made his eyes widen. The red figure then came down, swallowing both Cloud and Sora.
The last thing Sora hear was the sound of a gunshot, and then he blacked out. (End Battle in the Forgotten City)
Battle in the Forgotten City is the most epicest music ever!

Ok so how does FF work ? Is everyone super soldiers or have magic powers I dont understand
I got yes jams3 months ago+1
(A bit late but still gonna answer) Since I've got no idea if you're familiar at all with the games, I'll treat my answer as an introduction to the series. The main games (FF, FFII, III, all the way up to FFXV) don't have any confirmed connections between themselves. (Games like FFX-2 aren't considered as part of the main series, none of the sequels/prequels are, although the information they give is canon in their respective universes.) FFVII: There are super soldiers (named SOLDIERS) that have been created using an alien's cells (its name is JENOVA) and Mako (Mako is, to simplify things, the source of magic and also what keeps the planet alive (the planet is sentient, in its way)). Materia, crystals made of Mako (either man-made or natural), allow normal humans to use magic/heighten their abilities, etc. SOLDIERS use them as well since their abilities don't include the use of magic, only stronger, faster and tougher bodies. About all the games in general: Themes and physical objects like magic crystals, biologically engineered humans, world domination and so on come back often but the subjects are approached differently and magic (present in all worlds) will come from different sources and will have a higher or lower importance to the course of the story/fights/the world itself. Some creatures (Chocobos, Moogles, etc), some character names (Biggs and Wedge (seen in pair) and Cid (usually a pilot/inventor/both)) and the Summons often make an appearance in multiple (if not all) games. Despite that, the worlds aren't linked together. The world maps don't resemble each other, technology is very different, as well as religions, folklore, forms of entertainment, politics, etc, make it pretty obvious if you've played more than one game, but if you haven't then it's very normal that you wouldn't necessarily know. Hopefully, this was clear enough to be understandable if you have no or little previous knowledge of the games. I tried to make the info as concise as possible while still being accurate but some info might be a bit off or almost too simplistic and I apologize if that's the case (however, that comment is wayyyyy longer than I expected it and i apologise for that)

Jordan Rivera pretty much. Magic allows them to defy reality
A guide to all the achievements in Heart of Thorns Auric Basin map. This is a work in progress with Adventure achievements coming later.
Contents
1 Meta Event Achievements
2 Misc Achievements
Meta Event Achievements
These achievements are only doable at certain stages of the meta event, which has a repeating timer. Check the timer here to see which stage the meta event is on so you know which achievements you can do. The achievements are listed in chronological order.
Powered Up – 3 AP
Participate in powering up each of the outposts around Auric Basin. You need to do the three events in North/West/South that power up the outposts and precedes the Pylon events. These events occur immediately after the meta event cycle restarts but will stall until players complete them. Completing these events will allow each of the outposts to proceed to the Pylon events. There are several events in powering up each outpost but I believe you just need to complete one qualifying event at each outpost to receive credit for the achievement.
Northwatch Descent
Collect sediment from the fallen Exalted for Arcanist Mariette
Protect Burnisher Kengo as she activates the mirrors around the Northwatch Post.
Westwatch Patch
Defeat the vine crawler to recover the mirror pieces
Defend Tarocheeki as he searches his stashes to find the missing mirror piece
Protect skritt foragers as they return with supplies from the jungle.
Southwatch Creep:
Destroy the Mordrem breachers, and secure Southwatch
Defeat Overseer Rannik and rescue Adanich
Clear Mordrem near Exalted mirrors while Adanich powers-up Southwatch
Vinetooth Hunter– 1 AP, 1 Mastery
For this achievement you will need to defeat the legendary Vinetooth Prime, which only spawns after the 3 pylons at Eastwatch Outpost are activated. It is basically the 4th event in the Eastwatch Outpost chain. Eastwatch does not have a powering up phase so it goes into the pylon events right away after the meta resets. Vinetooth Prime spawns immediately after the 3rd Pylon is activated so you may want to hold off on activating the Eastwatch pylons until all the other Outposts are finished and there is sufficient people to kill Vinetooth Prime.
Defeat vine tenders and defend Sage Korin so he can activate the pylon
Ward Mordrem away from Sage Korin as he activates the Eastwatch pylon
Protect Sage Korin as he activates the final Eastwatch pylon
Defeat Vinetooth Prime
You have 10 minutes to defeat Vinetooth Prime before the event fails. The main thing with Vinetooth Prime is the breakbars. He will jump around and then down a player. He will then try to consume this downed player. During this consume process his breakbars are active. You need to break Vinetooth Prime’s breakbars before he finish the consume or he will gain a stack of Soul Consumption that makes him deal more damage per stack. Crowd control abilitiesare very important for this fight. If he keeps gaining stacks due to failed breakbars, he will deal more and more damage, causing more players to get downed and you will basically fail the event due to the timer running out.
Tarir Challenge Winner – 1 AP, 1 Mastery
During the challenge phase that occurs 15 minutes before the Octovine phase of the meta event, participate at Northwatch, Eastwatch, Southwatch or Westwatch challenges and place first in one of them. You get 6 rounds of challenges in North/West/South but usually only 3 rounds in east (unless the map has defeated the Legendary Vinetooth Prime, which is a fairly rare occurrence). Challenges are unlocked by doing the pylon event powering up each outpost.
Westwatch Challenge: This is the easiest challenge, requiring no skill, only aurillium. The bidding starts at 100 Aurillium and goes down by 10 Aurillium every couple of seconds. If you have Aurillium to spend and need this achievement, just do this one here.
Northwatch Challenge: Kick mushrooms into the Tyrant King three times to win. Use your #1 skill to kick the mushroom serfs into the king. The king teleports around and has a reflective shield up sometimes so don’t kick mushrooms into him when you see it on him. This challenge is easier with less people as you have more shots at kicking the mushrooms. If you need to pin a mushroom down so you can aim your kick, use the #3 skill.
Southwatch Challenge: This is a race challenge where you race alongside other players to reach the top. There are a couple routes you can take but ideally you want to have the bouncing mushroom mastery to make it faster. The left path has a chain of 3 mushrooms with very little jumping while the right path has just one mushroom with more jumping. Most people tend to pick the right path as it is faster if you are good at jumping.
Eastwatch Challenge: Last One Standing Wins. This is basically a battle royale type of challenge. You get three skills (punch, kick w/knockdown, and block). Your goal is to be the last one to survive the arena until the time limit runs out by killing other players. There is a small hole behind one of the wall structures that holds the torches so be sure to check behind those as some people like to hide there until the timer expires.
Ultimate Challenge Winner – 1 AP
For this achievement you have to place first at the challenge in each of the four outposts. This achievement may take a few maps to complete depending how good the other players are.
Saving the City of Gold – 27 AP
You will need to successfully complete the Octovine phase of the meta event 100 times. The best way is to use the HoT map timer to figure out when the Octovine phase occurs, taxi to a good map via the LFG tool a few minutes before that. If you need lots of Aurillium or any of the achievements for each of the individual lanes I would recommend starting on the east lane, and then rotate counterclockwise (east –> north –> west –> south). You want to participate in the burn/vulnerable phase at least once in each lane. East lane is usually the easiest, with south usually taking the longest. You get the title The Golden Child if you complete this achievement.
Droppin’ Bombs – 1 AP, 1 Mastery
Participate in the assault on the eastern octovine during the Battle in Tarir. Go to the Eastwatch Waypoint during the Octovine phase of the meta event. Retrieve a bomb and then use the glider to drop the bomb on top of the octovine when it is covered by layers of protection (you will need updraft mastery for this). When the octovine becomes vulnerable after all the layers of protection are removed, attack it.
Mordrem Begone – 3 AP
Participate in the assault on the northern octovine during the Battle in Tarir. Go to the Northwatch Waypoint during the Octovine phase of the meta event. Retrieve a turret from the NPC and deploy it in front of the Octovine. Deploy the turret and use the #1 skill on the turret to remove the layers of protection. When the octovine becomes vulnerable after all the layers of protection are removed, attack it.
Mushroom Power – 3 AP
Participate in the assault on the western octovine during the Battle in Tarir. Go to the Westwatch Waypoint during the Octovine phase of the meta event. Run into the gas cloud to turn into a mushroom bomber and then make your way to the octovine. Use your #2 skill to jump up in the air to glide and your #1 skill explode on top of the octovine to remove the layers of protection. When the octovine becomes vulnerable after all the layers of protection are removed, attack it.
Ba-Boom– 3 AP
Participate in the assault on southern octovine during the Battle in Tarir. Go to the Southwatch waypoint during the Octovine phase of the meta event. Use knockbacks to push the Exalted Bomb towards the octovine and help it explode to removed 5 layers of protection. When the octovine becomes vulnerable after all the layers of protection are removed, attack it.
Misc Achievements
A Study in Gold/Where Exalted Dare – 21 AP
See the guide here. This is a scavenger hunt for 17 tablets that grant you Herta, a Bloodstone Dust consumer.
No Mask Left Behind – 25 AP
See the guide here. This is another scavenger hunt for 25 Exalted Masks that give you the Aurillium Node in your home instance that you can mine daily.
Strongboxes – 10 AP, 5 Mastery
See the guide here. Doing them will grant you 10 AP and 5 Mastery points. The box can be opened daily after.
Egg Bearer – 5 AP
This jumping puzzle is basically the identical route as the Sanctum Scramble adventure. To access the adventure, you need to complete the City of Hope chapter in Act 2 and then drop down below Tarir to access the portal that will bring you to the Inner Chamber. You get the achievement at end of Sanctum Scramble adventure.
Forgotten City Arches – 3 AP, 1 Mastery
Very easy achievement obtainable with just basic gliding. Head to the Eastwatch waypoint and then glide west towards inner Tarir. You want to glide below each of the three arches. You can fold your glider between the arches to drop your height and conserve your gliding stamina as needed. If you don’t get all three arches the first try, you can just do the arch you missed next time.
Hidden Amphibian – 5 AP
You can find this frog named Veteran Witzel at end of the A Fungus Among Us adventure. Go up the big tree that lead you to the start of the adventure and follow the adventure route until the end. Once you reach the end, take a right and you will find this little frog hiding in a ledge you can climb up. You will need to kill the frog to get the achievement but he is easily soloable.
Highest Gear – 5 AP
This is a jumping puzzle in the golem chess cave west of the Falls near the Hero Challenge. It is only accessible via Ley Line gliding or mesmer port if someone completed it and is willing to port you up. To get to the start of the jumping puzzle, you will need to use bouncing mushrooms at the indicated position on the map. Once you get up on the area with the bouncing mushrooms, you can get to the golem cave either via ley line gliding or you can cheese it with just lean gliding. However keep in mind that the actual puzzle requires Ley Line Gliding so even if you cheese if, you will need someone with Ley Line to port you up to the end.
The path is fairly straightforward, just follow the jump pads and look for places where the next Ley Line gliding section occurs. There are two places that can be confusing. I have noted them below incase you can’t watch the video for whatever reason.
Invisible King – 3 AP, 1 Mastery
You will need Nuhoch Stealth Detection for this (Nuhoch Lore IV). Go east from the waypoint and drop down all the way to the jungle floor. You will see named Mushroom called Mushroom King Tyranus roaming around. He is invisible unless you have the mastery and he will not attack you. Just attack him once to get the achievement.
Tarnished Traitor – 1 AP
Exalted Purification (Exalted V) is required to summon this Tarnished Traitor located just below Tarir. He is a champion that requires 2+ players to defeat and is usually done after the Octovine event as someone will usually activate it on the way to the chests. If you don’t get the achievement for defeating him you may need the mastery to be eligible. Igo 8 free download.
The Golden Chicken– 3 AP
You will need bouncing mushrooms and basic gliding for this achievement. Head to the west gate from inside the Tarir city and take the portals. Once you are out of the portal. take a left towards the great hall and you will see some bouncing mushroms on your right. Go up with the bouncing mushrooms and run past the mastery insight to jump out.
Once you are in the air, drop down until you are near the circular red dotted structure below. There is a little opening covered by some leaves. Glide through that opening and you will a ledge with the golden chicken. Glide on to the ledge and you will get the achievement automatically.
Treetop Retriever – 10 AP
1. A female asura researcher was last seen north of Wanderer’s Waypoint.
You can find her just north of the waypoint. No gliding or jumping needed.
2. Since he went on an upper ledge to examine the Exalted portal, the asura researcher hasn’t been heard from.
This guy is on the ledge where all the exalted portals are, you can either take the bouncing mushroom if you have that mastery or climb up.
Force Your Way
3. Someone overheard the Zintl boasting about finding the remains of a female charr explorer
She is in the canopy just a bit south of the hero point. You can glide to her directly from #2. w
4. Echoes of a male charr explorer fighting a large colony of vampire beasts filled the canopy the other night
This Fallen Priory Explorer can be found near a tree root on a platform that is below and near the platform with the Exalted portals.
5. A human explorer bailed from the airship too early. She was lost near Capitzel Grounds
Advent Children Sephiroth Soundtrack
You can glide to here directly from the waypoint. Head SW and you will see a circular platform with a mushroom pad nearby.
6. Heading east, the explorer was cornered by a jaguar. The human never made it down from the canopy.
The Fallen Priory Explorer is just east of the Exalted portals.
7. An injured norn historian held off the bonebreaker so others could escape. Her sacrifice won’t be forgotten.
This corpse is just below the platform with the Exalted portals. If you are at #6, just waypoint to reach this one fast.
8. A lower ledge broke his fall, but then the norn explorer was surrounded by Tengu scouts.
One level below #7. It is on a ledge guarded by some Coztic frogs. Just go west a tad from #7 and drop down. You will spot it easily.
9. A Sylvari historian got trapped along the northern cliffside of Tarnished Treetop. She had little chance to survive.
Go east from the waypoint, it is on a ledge with a bouncing mushroom nearby.
10. An explorer tried to find his way south and down from the canopy. The sylvari only found a Coztic ambush.
Go south from the waypoint past a bunch of Coztic frogs.

So I downloaded and played through the Forgotten City mod (amazing!), but now the new music from that mod is the only thing that plays everywhere else in the game. And sometimes it plays at the same time as other event related music in certain situations, which is weird most of time (kinda cool sometimes, though).
Is there a fix for this (other than ditching the mod)? or do I just have to deal? It's not bad music, but the overall score is way shorter than the vanilla one so it repeats far more often.
Edit: Solved: Heading back to the forgotten ruins, walking into the city hanging around for a min or two, then walking back out again seems to have fixed this.
